Seniors Dinner and Workshop

Kenyan Canadian Association - KCA organized a heartwarming and colorful Seniors Easter Celebration Dinner and Workshop for seniors and older adults (55+) in Toronto on March 29, 2024. The event facilitated through generous funding by Government of Canada through New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP).

Amidst the festive atmosphere, the participants were able to network while the workshop focused on mental health and how to age well at home. Participants engaged in poignant discussions, sharing their experiences and insights, shedding light on the importance of addressing mental health issues within the community. The event provided an invaluable opportunity for seniors to connect, support one another, and foster a sense of understanding and empathy.

Micro-Grant Youth Project Dinner Closing

Uzima Women Relief Group International and Kenyan Canadian Association hosted a Micro-Grant Project Closure dinner for youth participants on March 28 2024 in Etobicoke, Ontario.

The project is funded by Canada Service Corps to empower youth between 15-30 by providing resources to turn their ideas into tangible community projects. 100 youth participants received $5,000 each.

The project closure dinner celebrated the culmination of this initiative, bringing together participants, organizers, and supporters. The participants shared their project outcomes, highlighting their creativity and innovation. Certificates of completion were issued for successful project completion along with hygiene kits and motivational books, marking the success of the pilot project that will leave lasting impact on participants and their project beneficiaries.

SBCCI Workshop

Kenyan Canadian Association core staff convened for a strategic planning workshop on March 29, 2024 facilitated by Dr. Jamila Aman.

The workshop aimed to re-evaluate the organization's identity and strategic direction. Through collaborative efforts and intensive brainstorming, KCA refined its vision, crafted a purpose-driven mission, and formulated a resonant objectives, laying the groundwork for its next phase in providing services and delivering programs to its beneficiaries.
